Hoya pottsii growing under my grow lights. Notice the new and quite reddish leaves. I love the colour of them.

Hello Sandy, I am Chris from Italy. Your hoyas are really beautiful. I really enjoyed looking at your plants, they sure look healthy. I was wondering in which country you live. Bye.
I would like to buy grow lights for my hoyas this winter, but I wouldn't know which type to buy. I know there is a specific light for flowering plants. Are you happy with yours? Is it effective? I really enjoyed visiting your site and the nice pictures but I was wondering why you don't have a section with your growing tips and personal experience in growing hoyas. It would be very interesting. Bye. Chris.
HI Chris..the fluorescent lights you can use are a combination of one cool white and one warm light...therefore, it will give you the growth and flowering for your plants under the lights...I have used that combination (which is cheaper set up) and i have used the Sylvania Grolux plus Philips' Brand grow lights too... i think they work great in the wintertime when daylight and sun isnt as long..i love mine and am really happy with them...Not only do i have some hoyas under the lights, i also grow a Phal orchid, stapelias and african violet too...my Phal orchid is spiking now and hopefully will bloom in the next few months..I highly recommend them.....I am a novice hoya grower so not sure i have the expertise to give advise in growing them...its trial and error but thank you for the nice compliments...do you have a blog and what do you grow?
Hi Sandy, Thank you for your answer. I will definitely buy grow lights for my hoyas. It makes me so happy when I see them grow well. I'm growing hoyas mostly. I have about 15 different hoyas species that are well established plants at the moment and I also recently received a dozen cuttings of other species that I want to grow. They are just babies at this time but I hope they will do fine. I do not have a blog or site right now but I'm working at it and will send you the link as soon as it's ready. Have a great day in your beautiful country! Christelle.
Hi Sandy, I agree the new growth on your H. pottsii is lovely, particularly as the veins stay green. It gives it an interesting look. Don't be too envious of my Hoyas growing outside. I have a lot of pests to deal with mealy bugs etc. The catipillars make short work of the new growth too if I don't get there in time.
Hello Sandy, I've just opened a blog, they are only a few pictures for the moment but as soon as I have more time, I will add more ! http://www.meshoyas.blogspot.com/
