H. carnosa NOID

Still when you haven't seen enough carnosas, here is another NOID. I received it as cuttings in May 2006 but it is doing quite well now.

Sandy, I have just found your site, & have enjoyed looking at the Hoyas, & your lovely boy Leon!
I was given a Hoya by my mother on the birth of my second son, & he was 7 years old the first time it flowered! She was so upset to think the florist had sent a plant that was not in bloom, but how I loved that Hoya. I see now, it was Minibelle! We could not bring it with us when we came to Australia, so I gave it to a dear friend, & it still flowers gloriously- & my son is almost 39!

Hi Meggie..

thank you for your nice words...your hoya must of been very special and it was too bad you could not bring it to Australia with you.....maybe now you will get a few more hoyas now that you live there...I know David Liddle has an extensive collection and he does have H. minibelle on his list....What a great place to grow hoyas where you live!....thanks for the nice comment :)

That Carnosa looks very lush and healthy Sandy. It's lovely to see them when they are so green. I just received two new ones from David Liddle H.carnosa "Limberlost Pink" and "Little Star" You should find any cuttings you do take will take root very easily. This year I found two Carnosa leaves that had fallen off or were knocked off our original plant and they had actually taken root in the garden. It never ceases to amaze me how these plants regenerate.

Ah... carnosa. I actually "made" mine from a leaf from my mother's plant - both of hers are looking very bedraggled from mealy bug infestation. I blame that plant (and the internet!) for the 20ish hoyas I now have! I have no idea which carnosa mine is either. It's pretty though, and smells gorgeous! It's put out more peduncles this autumn so I'm expecting some serious flowers next year.... here's hoping!

Hi Hills,

I am hoping for some blooms on my other carnosa too which shot out a few peduncles a few weeks back...yes the internet is the cause of many addictions but Hoyas are a good one!....I am sure 20 hoyas wont be the end for you yet!!

Don't say that.. my boyfriend is allready threatening to burn them - nooo! All because I was thinking of hanging a few pots of hoyas from the top of the window...
